If you’re looking for the hottest Christmas toys 2014, you’re in the right place! Here we review the new Toys R Us Fabulous 15 list of top toys for the 2014 holiday season. There’s something for every child here!
Fisher-Price Imaginext Supernova Battle Rover
Fisher-Price have a great reputation and the Imaginext Supernova Battle Rover certainly lives up to the dream!
See our Imaginext Supernova review with video
It’s a formidable 2-in-1 vehicle with removable space shuttle that’s built to save the world, and it’s big enough that a small child can push it along and use all of the interactive play elements. Age 3-6.
Doc McStuffins Get Better Talking Mobile Clinic
With the Doc McStuffins ‘Get Better’ Mobile Clinic from Just Play, your child can play at being doctor on the move. It’s a pull-along toy that opens up to reveal everything needed in a mobile clinic, with sound and lights. See our Doc McStuffins Talking Mobile Clinic review with video
There’s a ladder to rescue trapped toys, a gurney and seat for patients, and a CB radio to call back to base – as well as the regular doctor tools you’d expect, like an EKG stethoscope and thermometer. Age 3-7.
Hot Wheels Street Hawk Remote Control Flying Car
Remote control vehicles are some of the most popular Christmas gifts every year – and so are Hot Wheels cars. Put the two together, and add the ability to fly, and you have a sure-fire hit toy for Christmas!
See our Hot Wheels Street Hawk Flying Car review
The Hot Wheels Street Hawk RC flying car is a lightweight remote controlled car that can also take to the skies. For kids age 5-15, this is a fun toy that could also become a collector’s item.
Max Tow Truck
The Max Tow Truck is so much more than a regular toy truck. It actually pushes and pulls things, and they claim it can tow up to 200 pounds, including towing your child in a wagon!
This vehicle will be much in demand this Christmas for any child who likes trucks, although parents don’t always feel it lives up to the commercials. Age 4+
Charmazing Color Me Up Heart Collection
Art and craft toys keep kids entertained for hours doing something creative, and they love to show off the results afterward. The Charmazing Color Me Up charm bracelet maker could be this year’s big seller in this category, allowing kids to make charm bracelets from a selection of bracelet bases and charms.
See our Charmazing Color Me Up review
This could be a lot of fun for kids who enjoy bracelet making, but compared with a rubber band bracelet maker we don’t think this offers so much potential for creativity in designing the bracelets. Age 8-12.
Mutant Mania Mutant Masher
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fans who have some of the Mutant Mania characters will love this vehicle for carrying them around and doing stuff with them. But note, it won’t fit bigger TMNT figures inside.
Technology & Games
LeapFrog LeapTV Active Video Game System
Leap TV is the newest thing from kids’ technology giants LeapFrog, released October 24th. It’s an active, educational game system for the 3-8 age range, that will have them leaping around the room. You may think of it as a Wii for preschoolers, but it uses cameras as well as motion sensors to track kids’ movement. They’ll love seeing themselves on TV!
Lego Fusion Town Master
This world-building Lego set is a huge hit with older kids, teens and even adults. First build your town – then bring it to life as a video game in an Apple, Google, Samsung or Amazon app.
Set #21204 includes 256 Lego pieces, and a baseplate that connects up to your device to bring the town you build to electronic life for endless building and gaming fun. Age 7-14.
Skylanders Trap Team
The new Skylanders video game includes a Traptanium portal, 2 traps and 2 figures. You can get it for the Wii, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Nintendo 3DS, Playstation 3, Playstation 4 or tablets.
Kids will be demanding it, but we think it may not match up to previous Skylanders games. See why in our Skylanders Trap Team review.
Zoomer Dino is the ultimate interactive pet for dinosaur lovers. He’ll zoom around the house on his two wheeled legs, balancing impressively. He gets mad like you’d expect a dinosaur to do, but he can also be trained. Kids will love him!
See our Zoomer Dino review
Toys’R’Us are listing the ‘Onyx’ version in their hottest Christmas toys list but it comes in several colors and prices vary, so we’re showing them all if you follow the link below. Age 5+
Disney Frozen Snow Glow Elsa
This bilingual Elsa doll will enchant any little girls who liked the Frozen movie. Unlike many Elsa dolls, she’s not a representation of the grownup Elsa but the child, which has extra appeal for kids.
See our Snow Glow Elsa review with video
Raise her arm and her necklace sings ‘Let It Go’, the hit song from the movie. She also talks, with 15 different phrases in either English or Spanish. A lovely Disney Princess movie doll. Age 3-6
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Stretch N Shout Leonardo
Another one for TMNT fans, this 13-inch Leonardo figure can be stretched. Pull on his arms and hear him shout, with his voice getting higher as the stretch grows wider!
He may not do much else, but he’s sure to be popular, especially with younger TMNT fans – a toy that puzzles parents, but wows kids. Age 4+.
FurReal Friends Get Up and GoGo My Walkin Pup
My Walkin’ Pup is the latest in the hit range of plush toys from FurReal Friends and she’s cute as cute can be! See our FurReal Friends walking puppy review with video
She walks, sits, wags her tail, tilts her head and even responds with barks when your child talks to her. Kids are likely to want to take her wherever they go.
Little Live Pets
These animated toy pets will never need feeding or cleaning out, but they’re cute and respond to your touch. You can record real bird noises for them to make, or record your own voice so they mimic what you say just like a parrot.
Most of the packs contain a single bird, or you can get a bird inside a cage (as pictured), and if you choose the Romeo and Juliet Little Live Pets with two lovebirds, they will cuddle up to each other inside their cage, too. Age 5+
Transformers Stomp and Chomp Grimlock
Kids will love the two-in-one Transformers ‘Age of Extinction’ Stomp & Chomp Grimlock figure. Use the one-step transformation to change it in seconds from a scary dinosaur-type monster into a massive robot figure for imaginative action play.
The dinosaur’s eyes light up and its jaws clamp down as if to chomp on anything that gets in its way. Comes with Optimus Prime figure that can ride it, a sword and other weapons, plus batteries. Not cheap, but it’s this year’s must-have Transformers toy for any fans. Age 5+
