Find out how to reset a Furby or how to fix a dead Furby here!
Is your Furby not working? Scared you might have a dead one on your hands when it’s only a few days old? Maybe you already tried changing the batteries but your pet still seems completely lifeless?
Don’t panic! Your ‘dead’ Furby probably just needs resetting! You can see how to do that in the instructions that came with your new pet, but to make it even clearer, here’s a video to show you how to do it:

As you’ll see, it’s very simple to refresh a Furby that’s not working and seems completely dead.
First you need to open it up. Simply open up the battery compartment on the underside using a small screwdriver.
Then you could try just pressing the reset button right away. If you’re holding the Furby upside down with the battery compartment open and Furby’s tail toward you, the reset button is at the top left.
To reset Furby, you’ll need to hold in the reset button for 2-3 seconds. It’s hard to reach with your fingers so you’ll probably want to use the screwdriver or something like that.
If that doesn’t work, take out all of the batteries, leave them out for at least 30 seconds, then put them back in and press the reset button for 2-3 seconds.
Furby not working after you did all of that? Then maybe you have some defective batteries – try them in another appliance – or even possibly a defective model. But make sure you’ve tried all of these steps before you return it, because usually a dead Furby just needs that reset button to be brought back to life!
You may be wondering, does it wipe out all of the language it has learned, the personality it has adopted etc when you reset it? The answer is no. Your Furby should come back to life exactly as it was the last time you had fun with it.
