Lego Duplo Princess Ariel Castle Review
The Princess Ariel Undersea Castle from Lego Duplo could be the perfect playset for any little girl who loves Disney Princesses. Whether or not your child already has Disney Princess toys, this sea-themed castle offers plenty of opportunity for play.
Why Kids Love It
The castle is designed in soft colors that will appeal to little girls – pink, purple and light blue. It brings to life Princess Ariel’s undersea world and comes with a Princess Ariel figure as well as a flounder toy.
Ariel has a cute mermaid tail and kids can have her play on her slide and swing. There’s a treasure chest for the treasures that she collects in the movie and plastic seaweed to emphasize the marine theme. The swing especially is a big hit with kids according to the reviews.
What You Might Not Like
As a Lego Duplo set, it doesn’t have many buildable pieces. Most of the fun is not in building it but in playing with it after it’s built. The Duplo pieces are sturdy and durable and they’re a good size for little hands, but younger children will need adult help to figure out what goes where.
The castle separates into two sections for easy storage. Depending how much storage space you have, you don’t have to take it apart and rebuild it every time, although some kids might enjoy doing that. It gives the opportunity to develop their fine motor skills as they learn to use their hands more precisely.
This is a high quality Duplo princess castle that keeps up the high standards you expect from Lego. It will give most little girls hours of fun imaginative play in Princess Ariel’s undersea world.
Some parents thought it was a little expensive for the number of legos that you get and that’s why we give it 4.5 stars instead of 5. But if you understand that it’s really more of a playset than a building toy, and you have a little girl in the 2-5 age group who loves it, you probably won’t care about the number of pieces!
