What’s Fun About the Hailfire Nerf Gun
Any kid who likes guns will be thrilled to be given the Nerf NStrike Elite. It’s the latest in the Nerf guns range from Hasbro that fire foam missiles at targets or even at people (as long as you don’t aim for the face). It’s their highest capacity gun and
In bright blue and orange, this Hailfire Nerf gun is hard to miss! The darts load into clips that hang from the underside of the gun. Each clip holds 18 darts and they rotate for fast reloading.
Things get real intense when you use the acceleration trigger. This unleashes a semi-automatic feature that justifies calling it the Hail-Fire Blaster. Kids can blast away with the gun, firing off a storm of missiles, and have an amazing time.
It has a good range, with darts traveling up to 75 feet. Accuracy is not perfect but with this gun you’re going for a hail of rapid-fire missiles, not sniper shots.
What’s Not To Like?
The gun can hold up to 144 darts in 8 rotating clips. However, you only get 4 clips and 24 darts in the box with the gun. This could be a disappointment if you’re not prepared for it, and means an extra purchase is almost required. On the other hand, if they included all that ammunition then the cost of the gun would be a lot higher. So I guess this way at least you have the choice.
The N-Strike Elite Hail-Fire Mission Kit gives you the best deal on the extra clips, and then you’ll probably want to get the N-Strike Elite 75 Dart Refiller too. That’s going to add around $30 to the purchase. It’s worth it but you’ll want to be aware of that. If you decide not to upgrade, you might have a disappointed kid when he takes the gun out of the box.
Another thing to be aware of is that the gun might be heavy for some kids. It’s actually smaller than it looks in the photos and most kids in the age range will be fine with it, but some smaller kids might have trouble.
If your child already has one of the Nerf guns they’ll be clamoring to add this one to their collection and if not, it’s a great one to get. You’ll probably never need to buy them another! They can play with it inside or outside (keeping in mind the safety rules) and it’s good value when you keep in mind the hours of happy play that they should get from it. We think it is the best Nerf gun so far.
