Skylanders Trap Team Game Video
Skylanders Trap Team Review
If your children are all about video games, you are probably wondering which video game pack is the one they all want. Skylanders Trap Team Starter Pack is definitely high on the list. Best of all, it is available for all the top gaming systems including Nintendo, PS3, PS4, 3DS, Xbox 360, Xbox 1, Wii, Wii U, and Tablet.
In addition to the actual game, the video pack comes with cards your kids can trade or collect, stickers that have codes on them, and a poster where your kids can track what characters they have collected through the battles they have won.
Released in October 2014, it has a PEGI rating of age 10+. However, if you are okay with your kids playing a game with some violence on screen, your younger kids will definitely love it too. It’s geared toward old and young gamers.
This game is billed as the best game for integrating real worlds and the gamer into one. Plus, it has a “good versus evil” storyline that everyone seems to love. It’s an interactive game with offline figures considered crystal traps. The video game begins with a traptanium portal, two traps, and two Skylander figures.
It starts outs at Cloudcracker, a famous prison that has been compromised. Your job is to capture the criminals who are escaping with the help of the good guys, the Skylanders. The Traptanium is needed to help you capture and convert them into fighters for you in the Skylands world. However, this is not that easy because there are 40 criminals to capture with the assistance of 60 Skylanders. You have a bit of an edge, but not much.
There are a few cons associated with this game pack. One of the biggest issues people have is that you have to keep buying things. For example, you can use the older Skylanders games in the Trap Team, but you must have the new portal to play the new game. In addition, there are several more characters and traps that you can buy.
Some people who own the regular Wii version have complained that the game freezes at the Dreamcatcher level. (Wii U works fine.) Of course, the developers are working to fix this (they may already have), but we are looking at the reviews left when the game first came out.
If your kids don’t already own a Skylanders game, it might be a good idea to start off with one of the older ones, such as Swap Force. This is because you get a more complete game with that starter pack. However, if your kids already have it, they’ll want Trap Team too.
Both girls and boys of all ages are sure to love playing this game, and it made the Toys R Us list of 15 hot toys for the 2014 holidays. Kids love using the secret portals and codes to send beings in and out of worlds for amazing battles. All Skylanders have different capabilities and unique powers that can be used to win the game. In addition, there are several weapons that can be used by the villains and Skylanders, so the more you play, the more familiar you will become with all the weaponry and powers that this game offers to players.
The story could be better, and it could involve past characters more. But if your kids love this game, the Skylanders Trap Team starter pack could be the gift they will definitely want to have this year.
