Step 2 Easel for Two Review
Writing and drawing are part of the development and learning process of a child and an easel for paining, drawing and other creative activities is almost an indispensable piece of equipment to have in your child’s room. The great thing about this two sided easel from Step2 is that they can choose to play alone or with a companion such as a sibling or friend without interfering with each other’s work.
This toy doesn’t require assembly so you can use it right out of the box. It can easily be folded flat to store it almost anywhere you want to when it is not in use. Older kids will be able to put it away and get it out by themselves with no trouble.
The toy has 2 sides which are the chalkboard and the magnetic board. The chalkboard can be used with chalks (not included) to write and draw, by kids of all ages over three. (For safety reasons of small parts, this is not recommended for children under three.)
Both sides have a clip at the top where you can attach a large sheet of paper to cover the board and have them draw or paint on that. Again, paper and paints are not included but you can pick up these easily if you don’t already have some.
On the magnetic board, preschoolers can start to learn letters and numbers and this is very helpful for your child to cope better in school. You can have them rearrange the numbers and the letters into whatever sequence they like. This can help them learn about the alphabet and begin developing basic math and spelling skills.
Older kids will want to make words and create longer math puzzles with the letters and numbers, and you should be aware there are not enough to do this easily. There are just 77 letters, numbers and signs altogether, so you’ll probably want to order more for older children to get the most from this aspect of the magnetic board.
All in all, this is an high quality easel with a lot of creative potential for more than one child, and it’s offered at a good price. Highly recommended.
